A man has died after falling off a bridge in Glasgow which has led to the closure of part of the M8 motorway.
The incident happened just before 3am on Sunday at junction 11 near the Cranhill area of the city.
The 29-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Diversions are in place with eastbound traffic heading off at junction 11 taking the Gartloch Road and Auchinlea Road to rejoin at junction 10.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55am on Sunday, 30 August, 2026, officers attended the M8 at Cranhill, Glasgow, following a report of a man fallen from a bridge onto the eastbound carriageway.
“The 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The M8 eastbound remains closed while enquiries are carried out.”
