The launch of our new report on holiday lets attracted significant media coverage for the Bevan Foundation throughout August

August saw the launch of our latest report, Holidays or homes? The loss of homes for the people of Wales to holiday accommodation. The report, launched at the National Eisteddfod y Garreg Las, received coverage in media outlets including Business News Wales, South Wales Argus, The Canary, Inside Housing, Nation.Cymru, LBC News Wales, The Will Hayward Newsletter, Herald Wales, and rightsnet.
Members of the Bevan Foundation team also appeared on broadcast media to discuss the findings from the report. Senior Policy and Research Officer, Wendy Dearden, was heard on Global radio stations while Head of Policy (Poverty), Mabli Jones, appeared on BBC Radio Cymru and S4C’s Newyddion.
Our CEO, Steffan Evans, was seen on S4C’s Pawb a’i Farn from the Eisteddfod. Alongside panellists Dafydd Trystan Davies MS, Carwyn Jones and Bethan Kilfoil, Steffan talked about the holiday lets report as well as other areas of the Bevan Foundation’s work.

The cost of living continues to hit families across Wales, and news of high inflation and the rise in the price cap on gas and electricity costs has dominated headlines this summer.
As a result, the Bevan Foundation’s CEO, Steffan Evans appeared on BBC Radio Wales, S4C, and BBC Radio Cymru several times throughout August to discuss the impact of high costs and the Bevan Foundation’s work to tackle poverty.
