Work is ongoing ahead of the opening of a beer hall and restaurant in Sheffield city centre.
Kapital Beer Hall and Restaurant, a 4,500 sq ft venue, will be based in Wellington Street when it opens. It will be based within the landmark £470m Heart of the City development.
Kapital promises to bring the best of the continent to Sheffield with it serving fresh tank beer, pan-European cuisine and live entertainment all under one roof. The exciting new venue is the latest venture from the award-winning team behind Two Thirds Beer Co – based in Abbeydale Road.

Kapital will house four huge stainless-steel tanks, filled weekly with unpasteurised Budvar lager delivered fresh from the Czech Republic straight to Sheffield. The £750,000 project, designed to deliver a premium yet relaxed atmosphere, flooded with natural light from its expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.
The space will also feature a large mezzanine floor with panoramic views, available for private hire, as well as an outdoor beer garden.
A new foodhall is opening in Sheffield
Construction and fit out of the double storey venue is expected to take 10 weeks with doors set to open this summer. Kapital co-founder, Ben Stubbs, said: “It’s incredibly exciting to see our vision for Kapital come to life as works get fully underway. We’ve poured everything into this concept and truly believe it’s going to bring something totally fresh and unique for Sheffield. A modern take on the traditional European beer hall with great beer, quality food, and atmosphere, all brought together in a stunning space in the heart of our hometown. It’s big, it’s bold, and we can’t welcome everyone through the doors.”
To celebrate the build milestone, Kapital has announced it will be giving away an additional 1,000 free pints of tank beer on top of the 1,500 already snapped up online by early fans. You can find out more here.
