With seven new faces through the door, and plenty of deadwood leaving, Daniel Farke’s Leeds United squad is finally set in stone for the Whites’ second season back in the Premier League.

At one stage, deadline day looked like it would be an extremely disappointing one. Thankfully, the 49ers managed to get deals for Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya over the line to bolster our options at left-back and left wing.

So with Bard and Bahoya being our sixth and seventh signings of the summer respectively, I’ve ranked all of our new additions in terms of how good a signing they look to be.

It may be early days, but it looks as if we have spent £93million incredibly well, in areas that certainly needed reinforcing.

7) Michael Zetterer

The signing of a backup goalkeeper is never really going to get you out of your seat. However, following Karl Darlow’s departure, it was clear we needed to sign one.

At £4.3million, Michael Zetterer brings with him three years of Bundesliga experience in which he played regularly. At 31, it looks like we could keep him for a good few years if he is happy to warm our bench.

All the talk regarding Zetterer was annoying, however, prior to us signing him. Initially, he didn’t seem too keen about the prospect of joining us as second choice. It goes without saying that he is unlikely to feature much this season, so for that reason, the German shot-stopper comes in at number seven.

6) Marvin Bard

As we mentioned previously, Bard is one of the final signings we got over the line this summer.

The 25-year-old Frenchman will provide much-needed left-footed cover and competition for Gabriel Gudmundsson at left-wing back when the Swede returns to full fitness.

Leeds have paid a fee to loan the defender for this season, whilst also having the option to make the move permanent next summer. If they do this, Bard will cost around £5.1million in total.

The reason he comes in at number six is because we know James Justin can technically cover that left-wing back area if needed, although the Englishman being right-footed doesn’t make him a natural fit.

Nevertheless, getting a defender with so much Ligue 1 experience in for potentially such a cheap fee looks to be a shrewd signing.

5) Nico Elvedi

Nico Elvedi joined us this summer for around £8.5million to replace the outgoing Sebastiaan Bornauw.

The Swiss defender was expected to come in and provide cover for us at centre-back. But after seeing him in action a few times, it’s clear the 29-year-old could play much more regularly than Bornauw did.

With Joe Rodon going down with a hamstring injury against Brentford, there’s every chance that Elvedi gets a run in the team.

Elvedi can count himself unfortunate to not find himself higher up this list. Maybe if he was four years younger, he would have done.

4) Jean-Matteo Bahoya

Our final signing of the summer, Jean-Matteo Bahoya, comes in at number four on the list.

The 21-year-old Frenchman initially joins us on loan, but we have an obligation to make his move permanent for £25.7million if he makes a certain number of appearances.

The youngster looks to be an extremely talented player, and we desperately needed to sign another left winger when considering Noah Okafor’s injury troubles as well as the fact he seems to struggle to play 90 minutes.

Hopefully Daniel Farke trusts the youngster enough to play him regularly so we can avoid another repeat of the Willy Gnonto and Largie Ramazani saga.

3) Harry Wilson

Right at the start of the summer, we managed to poach one of our Premier League rivals, Fulham’s, talisman for nothing.

Last season, we lacked quality out on that right wing, and Harry Wilson has come in to address this issue.

The Welshman has a bucket load of Premier League experience and last season, he managed to score 10 Premier League goals and provide seven assists.

If Wilson had three years left on his deal, he’d have easily cost around £20million this summer. So to sign the 29-year-old for nothing is remarkable.

2) Tarik Muharemovic

The reason Tarik Muharemovic finds himself so high up this list despite arriving for £34million is because of who he is replacing.

Pascal Struijk was our vice-captain and arguably our best centre-back last season. But with Muharemovic being spectacular so far, we’ve all quickly moved on from the Dutchman.

At 23, there’s still plenty of room for him to develop even further, and if he eventually leaves, we’re likely to net a handsome profit.

Muharemovic also looks to be an incredible threat from set-pieces. So I’m looking forward to celebrating a couple of Bosnian bullet headers at Elland Road this season.

1) James Trafford

Coming in at number one, it’s England’s number one, as we have dubbed him already, James Trafford.

The 23-year-old arrived for a club record £40million fee and has put an end to the goalkeeper troubles that have plagued us since Nigel Martyn left the Whites.

Right now, Trafford is already one of the better ‘keepers in the division. By the time he’s 27, it’s scary to think about how good he will be. He certainly has world-class potential.

It’s an incredibly ambitious deal for the 49ers to get done, and for as long as Trafford is at Leeds, we never have to worry about signing another first-choice goalkeeper. For all of these reasons, putting Trafford at number one on this list was a no-brainer.
