Emergency services are currently at the scene of fire in Drumaness
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has attended the scene of an oil tank fire which has damaged several houses in Co Down.
Photographs from the scene show major damage to the roof of a property in the Cushowen Place area of Drumaness, Ballynahinch.
In a statement, a spokesperson from NIFRS said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a property fire in Cushowen Place, Drumaness. On arrival crews were faced with a well developed fire involving an oil tank and terraced houses. The incident is now scaling back.
“An investigation to determine cause will follow once operations are concluded.”
Appliances from Ballynahinch, Downpatrick, Carryduff, Lisburn, Cadogan and Dromore are still currently in attendance, including an aerial appliance from Springfield and a Command Support Unit.
