Back in June, Capcom officially confirmed Monster Hunter Wilds was in development for the Switch 2.

While there are no updates about the release date for this platform just yet, Capcom has this week shared the first proper trailer of the game’s new expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance.

Here’s a bit more about what you can expect when this “massive” release takes flight in 2027:

“The Wilds evolve with the massive expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, coming in 2027! A giant dragon’s sudden siege heralds change in the Forbidden Lands, for both land and sky. Bracing for danger, the Expedition steels themselves as familiar and undiscovered Elder Dragons emerge – and a disturbing new threat prowls the land.”

And here’s a look at monster featured on the expansion’s main artwork:

“The newly discovered Bird Wyvern, Araketa, soars the skies in packs. It is capable of high-speed flight by controlling powerful air currents released from its wings. Leaders of the pack can emit distinctive calls that enable them to command and coordinate the group’s movements.”
