Production is officially under way for Netflix’s upcoming thriller series, based on Dan Brown’s novel The Secret of Secrets. The as-yet-untitled show is co-created and executively produced by The Da Vinci Code writer Brown and Jack Ryan’s Carlton Cuse, with filming taking place in Prague.
According to Deadline, the story centres around a groundbreaking manuscript written by scientist Katherine Solomon. Her discoveries challenge everything humanity knows about the mind.
When Katherine suddenly goes missing, her fate is left in the hands of symbologist Robert Langdon. Robert must race against ancient forces and time to rescue both the scientist and her vital research.

The adaptation will reportedly blend futuristic science with ancient mythology, creating a suspenseful, international adventure. The Secret of Secrets is the sixth instalment in Brown’s Robert Langdon series, with Morgan Spector cast in the lead role.
A first look image sees Spector in character alongside Rebecca Hall, who will play Katherine. The regular cast is rounded out by Cherry Jones as Heide Nagel, Corey Stoll as Everett Finch, Rob Delaney as Jonas Faukman and Abbey Lee as Sasha Vesna.
Meanwhile, Mamoudou Athie (Michael Harris), Ben Levi Ross (Alex Conan), Anamaria Marinca (Dr Gessner), Richard Sammel (Karl Muller) and Elena Saurel (Susan Housemore) will appear in a recurring capacity.

As well as creating the series, Cuse will serve as writer and showrunner on the project. His other work includes executive producing and helming the sci-fi adventure series Lost, which ran between 2004 and 2010.
In 2018, Cuse and writer Graham Roland created Prime Video’s Jack Ryan, based on author Tom Clancy’s popular CIA character. The show starred John Krasinski in the titular role and received a sequel film, Jack Ryan: Ghost War, earlier this year.
