Cindy Cunningham and Beth Keane’s baby secret is becoming dangerously close to being exposed in Hollyoaks. Recent episodes saw Cindy return to the village harbouring a secret she has kept for 16 long years.
It transpired that Cindy and Beth’s relationship goes way back and that Cindy is Beth’s aunt, but their relationship had soured.

Cindy originally told everyone it was because Beth had stolen a sentimental pocket watch, but their relationship actually broke down after Cindy was a surrogate for Beth 16 years ago, giving birth to Maddox.
Beth didn’t believe that Cindy would keep her end of the bargain and went on the run with Maddox. Now, Cindy has returned and is blackmailing Beth for money in exchange for keeping their secret under wraps.
In scenes set to air this week, Maddox turns to Cindy for comfort after some drama at home involving Jonah and Caleb Keane.
He crashes on his ‘aunt’ Cindy’s sofa, all the while still not knowing that she is actually his biological mother.
An emotional Cindy turns to Mercedes McQueen and the pair discuss the children they have lost before Cindy gets drunk at The Dog.

She gushes about Maddox to Dee Dee Hutchinson, but a slip of the tongue makes her suspicious of Cindy’s relationship to the teen.
Dee Dee talks to Frankie Osborne about what Cindy said, and the pieces all begin to fall into place, leading Dee Dee to tell Maddox that she thinks Cindy could be his biological mother.
At the same time, Cindy opens up to Darren at The Dog. How long can she keep her secret, and what will be the fallout for Maddox and Beth?
“Beth is desperate to keep the truth about Maddox’s biological mum under wraps, but it seemed only a matter of time before the secret was exposed!” says our source.
“As Dee Dee discovers that things don’t quite add up, she tells her boyfriend Maddox her suspicions. How will Maddox react to this bombshell?”
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
