South Korean President Lee Jae Myung met with South Korean directors, actors and entertainment industry representatives at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence during his state visit to France. This was reported by The Korea Herald.

The meeting was attended by director Lee Chang-dong and actors Sol Kyung-gu, Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Do-yeon, who were part of the cast of his film «Possible Love». Netflix Vice President for Content in Asia Kim Min-young and other representatives of South Korea’s film industry were also present.
Lee Chang-dong’s film was officially invited to the competition program of the Venice International Film Festival, where it will compete for the Golden Lion.

Investments in cinema
The meeting took place after the opening ceremony of the Lumiere Summit, an international conference on cinema and the audiovisual sector. South Korea and France committed to invest €500 million each in the film and moving image industry over five years, starting next year.
Lee Chang-dong proposed increasing investment in South Korean cinema by expanding tax incentives for individuals and companies financing film production. The president said that he would begin considering the proposal after returning to South Korea.
