The four-day residential took place at Hill House Farm in Box, near Bath, and was part of the Jamie’s Farm programme.
Students from years seven and eight from Lift Broadlands in Bristol spent the four-day visit caring for animals, preparing meals, chopping wood, and helping to renovate a beehive.
Jake Curtis, co-CEO of Jamie’s Farm, said: “We were delighted to welcome back Lift Broadlands for a residential programme at Jamie’s Farm.
“From our perspective, the partnership with Broadlands is the perfect model for how we like to work with our partner schools.
“The young people are always really well prepared and show real enthusiasm at getting stuck into challenging jobs and seeing how hard work can be enjoyable and rewarding.
“Our working farm relies on the endeavour of our visiting young people to make it thrive, and this is the third occasion that Broadlands have been such effective members of our community.
“We are delighted to support Laura Stone and all the wonderful staff at Broadlands with the considerable efforts they are making day in, day out to provide amazing experiences for their pupils.”
In addition to daily farm duties, students took part in horse therapy and team-building exercises, and explored the local area.
Evenings were spent sharing meals and reflecting on the day’s activities.
The residential is part of Lift Broadlands’ ongoing partnership with Jamie’s Farm.
It was the school’s third residential with the charity in the past two years.
Last year, Broadlands was selected as one of four academies for Jamie’s Farm’s Flagship Schools programme, which included additional in-school support from the charity’s staff.
Laura Stone, principal at Lift Broadlands, said: “Jamie’s Farm gives our students a wonderful opportunity to experience something different, take on new challenges, and create some fantastic memories together.
“We were incredibly proud of the way students approached each challenge, supported one another, and made the most of every opportunity.
“Experiences like this help young people grow as individuals and build important qualities that will support them in the future.”
Staff praised the students’ kindness, determination, and positive attitude throughout the visit.
Jamie’s Farm was founded by mother-and-son duo Jamie Feilden and Tish Feilden, who aim to help transform the lives of young people facing challenges through a unique combination of farming, family, and therapy.
