Is everybody ready for a Direct? The first of this week’s two showcases kicks off today! We’ve got all the info you’ll need to watch along in the following guide.
Nintendo recently announced not one, but two Direct showcases. The first of these will be focused on The Legend of Zelda as it celebrates its 40th anniversary, while the second is a more general Direct for Switch 2 titles.
Oh, and there’s also a Treehouse presentation after the second Direct, during which gameplay for announced titles will be showcased. Phew!

What time do the Nintendo Directs take place?
The Zelda: 40th Anniversary Direct will go live on Tuesday, 8th September 2026 at 3pm BST. After that, the general Nintendo Direct will follow on Wednesday, 9th September 2026 at 3pm BST.
Here’s a look at a bunch of timezones along with your local time. Keep in mind that these specific times can be applied to both Directs on the 8th and 9th September:
- North America: 7am PDT / 8am MDT / 9am CDT / 10am EDT
- UK/Ire: 3pm BST
- Europe: 4pm CEST / 5pm EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 11pm JST / 10pm AWST / 12am (Wed) AEST
Where can I watch the Nintendo Directs?
Both broadcasts can be watched on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel. In fact, the company has already provided links to the main Directs and the Treehouse presentation:

How long is each Nintendo Direct?
Nintendo has confirmed the following runtimes for each Direct presentation and the Treehouse showcase:
- Nintendo Direct – Zelda: 40th Anniversary – approx 30 minutes
- Nintendo Direct – 09/09/2026 – approx 45 minutes
- Nintendo Treehouse – approx 110 minutes
What will be announced at the Nintendo Directs?

Ah, the big question. With the Zelda: 40th Anniversary Direct, we have a vague idea of what will be shown. Ocarina of Time for the Switch 2 is guaranteed, as indicated by a social media post from Nintendo itself.
It also stated that we can expect to see initiatives for the 40th anniversary that are not related to games. So in other words, it’s likely a trailer for The Legend of Zelda movie will be shown along with some Nintendo Museum shenanigans.
As for the general Direct, this one is a bit more uncertain. It’s likely we’ll see new trailers for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and Xenoblade Genesis, but we’re also expecting a bunch of brand-new announcements.
Recent rumours indicate that several titles are in development for 2027, and they’re all pretty enticing to say the least. If accurate, some of these may show up in the Direct.
