Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (21 May), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks has revealed one more unexpected Tommy Odenkirk twist, as a shocking death is confirmed in the village.
After Jez encouraged him to relapse on drugs, Joel found out through Leela that Tommy had lied about his brother’s death – as Billy was still alive.
Enraged by Tommy’s deception, Joel confronted him at the flat about his discovery – and he began violently attacking the fake therapist.
Joel woke up the next morning in today’s episode, confused about what happened the previous night. But he soon spotted Tommy’s body and realised that he was dead.

Horrified Joel called Jez, who came round and discovered that he had killed Tommy. Secretly happy that his secrets will die with Tommy, Jez encouraged Joel to cover up the murder.
But Joel then got a visit from Marie and Leela, who decided to check on him following his relapse. Joel briefly tried to hide his actions, but his mum and wife soon found Tommy.
They gathered that Joel was planning to dispose of the body, as Tommy was wrapped in a rug. Marie encouraged this cover-up, as she was desperate not to lose another son.

But Leela was adamant that Joel should come clean and go to the police, and while he faced a devastating dilemma, he eventually chose to hand himself in.
As Joel was arrested off-screen for Tommy’s murder, Marie went to The Hutch and revealed her son’s unexpected fate – leaving Cleo shocked and Jez panicked.
DI Banks took Joel to a cell and asked him if he knew where Tommy’s patient files were, as everything had been cleared out except for a thumb drive taped underneath his desk.

Later, Banks looked at the contents of the thumb drive, and it was revealed that Tori – Dodger and Sienna’s granddaughter – had been seeing Tommy for therapy sessions.
“My mum and dad aren’t my real family,” she said on a recording. “My uncle Dennis was my real family, but he died.”
As a woman’s hand comforted Tori on the video, Banks rang his wife and berated her for taking the child to see Tommy. He feared that her identity would be revealed following Tommy’s murder, but just who is the elusive Mrs Banks?
