Chris Brown left HMP Forest Bank this evening after being released on bail. A group of fans gathered to try and catch a glimpse of the American singer as he left the Category B men’s jail in Salford at around 4:45pm today (Wednesday, May 21).
He had been remanded in custody after being charged over an alleged bottle attack in a London nightclub.
The 36-year-old R&B star is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Abraham Diaw in February 2023.
Earlier today, he was granted bail following a hearing at a London court.
He was told he must pay a £5 million security fee to the court, which is a financial guarantee to ensure a defendant returns to court and may be forfeited if they breach bail conditions.
As part of his bail conditions, he will be able to continue with his scheduled international tour this year, including in the UK in June and July, Judge Tony Baumgartner told Southwark Crown Court.
The singer is set to play at Manchester’s Co-op LIve on June 15 and 16.
He must surrender his passport if he is not travelling, Judge Baumgartner said. He must live at a specific address known to the court but is not allowed to visit the nightclub, and he cannot contact Mr Diaw or apply for international travel documents.
