It’s the first meeting of the season between Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers as the two sides go head-to-head at the Utilita Arena (19:00 face-off).
Panthers make the trip up the M1 for the Challenge Cup Group A encounter with a crowd of over 8,000 expected in Sheffield.
The Steelers won twice last weekend and have a perfect record in the cup so far, which started with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Coventry Blaze on home ice last Saturday.
There were six different scorers for the Steelers including captain Robert Dowd who also contributed three assists.
The following night in Guildford was tougher for the Steelers and they found themselves 3-0 down at one point in the first period.
Aaron Fox’s side fought back and went on to win the game 5-4 after a shootout, with Mitchell Balmas scoring the winning penalty shot.

Panthers Head Coach, Danny Stewart, said: “Sheffield have a set system and their players buy into it. They are a very good hockey team who will be similar to last season.
“They haven’t changed too much and with the quality they have signed they will be a tough test. They have reloaded with a lot of top-end players.
“We have a lot of new players but the returning guys will be making them aware about the rivalry and how important it is. All the guys know what needs to be done.”
