When Jayden Bogle joined Leeds United from Sheffield United, we were led to believe that the right-back was a liability and a Championship-level player.

In some respects, you could argue missing out on promotion in Daniel Farke’s first season actually served to benefit Leeds United.

For one, it meant that Jayden Bogle became a Whites player, and his time at Elland Road has been outstanding so far.

When Leeds signed Bogle, it took an improved £5million offer to prise him from recently-relegated Sheffield United. Not exactly a huge fee by any means, but the Blades felt the need to make themselves feel better, announcing it as a “significant, undisclosed fee”.

Soon enough, £5million looked like an absolute bargain. Bogle quickly established himself as the best right-back in the Championship as we won the title, giving himself a better opportunity in the Premier League with a side that were ready to show ambition in the market.

In the Premier League, Bogle’s consistency shone through again. With Daniel Farke’s shift to a back three, Bogle’s influence grew in 2026, to the point where he’s now one of the most important players in the Whites lineup.

Despite his goal vs Newcastle United being accredited to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Bogle scooped up the Player of the Match award for that game.

Bogle’s transfer to Leeds continues to age like a fine wine.

This week, it has been confirmed by the Premier League that Bogle is nominated for the Player of the Month award for September:

“Leeds maintained an unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign with a win and two draws in September and much is owed to Bogle’s influence at right wing-back,” they write.

“He scored in the 1-1 draw against high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion and starred in the 4-1 demolition of Newcastle. Leeds only conceded only twice in three games across the month and boast the joint-tightest defence in the league, alongside Everton, which leaves them fifth after five matches.”

Bogle is one of multiple in the Leeds squad that have made the step up from Championship football marvellously.

Alongside Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka, Bogle is proving himself a terrific player at this level. And, that new contract looks like inspired business from the 49ers too.
