Evans took charge of Bristol Rovers in December last year and has largely transformed the fortunes of the club in that time.
The club have won 18 of 36 games in all competitions under the Scot, who last week brushed off speculation linking him with the vacant managerial position at Hibernian.
The 1-0 victory over Rotherham on 5 September equalled Bristol Rovers’ home record of 10 consecutive league wins, set twice before in April 1935 and August 2016.
Yet Evans said he wants to be the man to oversee a team that takes the record outright.
“We want to be unique, I want to be the manager in 50, 60 years time where another manager is sitting in this chair wanting to break my record,” he added.
“I’ve equalled it but I’m one of three at the minute, I want to be one of one.”
Bristol Rovers go into the game however off the back of consecutive losses on the road away to Grimsby and Gillingham.
They will also be without defender Riley Harbottle for six or seven weeks after having an operation on a hamstring tear.
“He’s a big loss to us, we’re missing some big players at the minute,” Evans said.
