A handicap over 1m. Rain will be key for some of these so hard to predict in advance. BLUE FOR YOU is a tentative each-way play. He doesn’t win very often and needs everything to go right, which didn’t happen at York just over a week ago when the pace wasn’t fast enough. He does, however, go on any ground and is well handicapped off 96. As long as they go hard he should finish off well for Oisin Orr and David O’Meara.

ITV Racing churn out plenty of races Saturday from Goodwood, Haydock, Beverley and the Curragh, starting here with a handicap over 7f. A huge field so the draw will be key. The mixture of draw and form sways me to BEST RATE as the each-way selection. Hollie Doyle is on top for her old boss Richard Hannon from a decent draw in stall 7. My hope ran right up to form last time when second to Rare Change at York and while he’s up 2lb for that there is no reason why he can’t be improving after just six runs.

Haydock 13:50 – Teroomm

Here’s a handicap over 1m for three-year-old’s. Loads of inform horses here. TEROOMM has a really good attitude and is improving all the time. An opening handicap mark of 90 is by no means generous on the back of two victories at Bath and Thirsk, but he looked cooked last time only to rally and score and it might just be he’s coming good at the right time with Royal Ascot not far away. Roger Varian trains and his stable rider Silvestre de Sousa will keep pumping away.

A conditions race for juvenile fillies over 5f. Pontefract winner ARGENTINE TANGO met a class horse just the other day but gets a good draw here and with plenty of experience might be able to bang out near the rail and make all for David Allan and Tim Easterby. Has to be in the mix.

The Listed Hedge of Oak Stakes over an extended 1m2f. This should be a gimme for Running Lion but I’d rather have a few quid each-way on SECRET SATIRE for Rob Hornby and Andrew Balding. The filly returned at Newmarket this season and actually finished a place in front of Running Lion in the Dahlia as the latter ran a shocker. She stays well and might just be more reliable than the Gosden runner who should hack up on paper.

A conditions race for juvenile males over 5f. Naval Light might well make a winning debut for Karl Burke who is well capable of doing that with a horse in this. That said, 200,000gns breeze up OLD IS GOLD showed plenty on debut at Ascot and the newcomer will have to be really good to beat him. A third behind Military Code is not a bad effort at all so I will chance PJ McDonald and Andrew Balding.

Up in grade now for the Group 2 Sandy Lane for three-year-old’s over 6f. ARIZONA BLAZE might be better at 5f than 6f but there is no strong evidence for that and he kept on well over 6f at York last season and over 5.5f at Chantilly in April. He should be fighting fit and is pretty talented with a rating of 111 and a second to Magnum Force in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. David Egan is on top and Adrian Murray is the handler.

Up in class now for a Listed event for possible Oaks types over 1m2f. Lightly raced improvers here so impossible to be dogmatic. Some of these might well need softer ground. I’ll chance PERFECT YOUR CRAFT each-way for Ralph Beckett and Richard Kingscote. She made a winning debut at Salisbury last season and was well on top at the line after taking time to get going. That was over 1m and she will adore this step up in trip. On paper this does not look a great bunch and she has more potential than most.

Here’s the Group 2 Temple Stakes over 5f. Breeders’ Cup winner Starlust is the top rated and his Nunthorpe third at York is also class. He returns after 167 days off the track. I want a horse who is going to race up with the pace in this, and I just feel WASHINGTON HEIGHTS has the chance to be closer to the speed than he was when beaten by re-opposing Rumstar at Newmarket last time. Tom Eaves gets the chance for Kevin Ryan and I think the pair are a cracking each-way bet in an open contest.

The big race of the day in Europe in the Irish 2000 Guineas over 1m. This will be quick. Everyone knows this should be a gimme for FIELD OF GOLD, and Colin Keane appears to have been gifted a Classic after Kieran Shoemark taught my selection how to settle but lost the ride after his defeat in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. He should have had a pacemaker that day, which was an error, but connections have not made the same mistake here with Windlord popped in the line-up. Should be easy for the John & Thady Gosden runner who is an absolute monster and improved bundles from his two-year-old days.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaas. You hear me Paddy?
