Bristol Aquarium is diving into Pride Month with a unique adults-only event that brings marine magic and LGBTQ+ celebration together in one spectacular evening.

The harbourside venue will host Sunset Seas on Friday, June 28, offering visitors aged 18 and over a chance to explore the aquarium after dark.

Running from 6pm to 9pm, the experience promises an atmospheric mix of ocean exhibits, lush botanical displays, and flowing cocktails.

The inaugural Sunset Seas is timed to coincide with Pride Month and will shine a spotlight on both human and marine diversity.

As well as enjoying the usual array of aquatic life, guests will be guided through a special Pride Trail, highlighting species that challenge traditional gender roles – such as fish that change sex or exhibit non-binary traits.

Chloe O’Dell, events and experiences manager at Bristol Aquarium, said: “Our oceans are full of incredible stories of transformation and diversity. Sunset Seas is our way of celebrating those stories while creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful space for people to connect and be themselves.”

Visitors will be free to stroll through the exhibits with drinks in hand, enjoy the calming glow of illuminated tanks, and take in the sights and sounds of a more relaxed, twilight aquarium. The on-site bar will be open throughout the event.

Whether guests are attending with friends or simply seeking a meaningful way to mark Pride, the aquarium says the evening is designed to be a memorable celebration beneath the waves.
