Ukrainian drones targeted the city of Yelets in Russia’s Lipetsk region overnight. According to Governor Igor Artamonov, debris from one of the drones, shot down by air defenses, fell on a residential building, damaging around 20 apartments.

Artamonov also reported that a drone crash sparked a fire in an industrial area, injuring eight people.

Ukrainian forces have launched drone strikes on Russian territory for several consecutive days. On the morning of May 23, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses had destroyed 112 Ukrainian drones overnight. The drones were reportedly shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Oryol, Ryazan, and Tula regions.
