Two men were seriously hurt after a collision in Birmingham last night.

The pair were drivers of cars which had collided between Lichfield Road and Church Road, in Aston, just before 10pm yesterday, Thursday, April 10.

One casualty received advanced trauma care at the scene having suffered serious injuries.

A second man sustained potentially serious injuries.

Both men were taken to hospital for further treatment.

In a statement, West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Two men have been conveyed to hospital following a road traffic collision in Aston last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 9.51pm to a road traffic collision involving two cars on Lichfield Road and Church Road in Aston, Birmingham.

“Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and the WMAS critical care car attended the scene.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “Upon arrival we found two men who were the drivers of the vehicles.

“The first man was assessed and had sustained serious injuries. He received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”

“The second man was assessed had sustained potentially serious injuries and received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further assessment.”

“No further patients required treatment.”
