Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claimants have been reminded they must keep the DWP informed of changes to their circumstances.
If they don’t, they could see their benefits taken away.
The disability benefit is paid to people with long-term health conditions or disabilities, to help with associated costs.

It’s worth up to £187 a week and can be a crucial lifeline for those who receive it.
But the DWP must be notified of various changes to circumstances, as they could impact how much someone can claim, Mirror reports.
It warns claimants could even be taken to court if they have provided inaccurate information.
They said: “You could be taken to court or have to pay a penalty if you give wrong information or do not report a change in your circumstances.”
The DWP has listed all the changes they must be told about. These are:
- Your details change – for example your name, address or doctor
- The help you need or your condition changes
- Your condition has worsened and you are not expected to live more than 12 months
- You go into hospital or a care home
- You go abroad
- You’re imprisoned or held in detention
- Your immigration status has changed, if you are not a British citizen
Citizens Advice advises that if someone is not sure if they need to report a change, then it is always worth telling the DWP anyway just in case.

It comes as the Government has announced controversial cuts to PIP.
Rule changes will make it harder for people to claim the daily living element, while some existing claimants have been warned they could lose their benefits.
The changes are due to come into force next year.
