Prince Harry has made a public appeal to reconcile with the royal family as King Charles heaped praise on his eldest son and heir, Prince William.
Harry, 42, the King’s younger son, caused a huge rupture in the royal family when he and his wife Meghan quit royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, from where they were highly critical of the institution.

He has rarely spoken to his older brother since the split and has only recently reconnected with his father after relocating to the UK with Meghan and their two children in August.
But after years of frosty missives between Harry and the royal family, he is now extending an olive branch.
“With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile,” he told GQ.
He told the publication he understood why the family fallout became worldwide news, adding it was relatable to everyday families.

“There’s sibling disagreements, there’s broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent,” he said.
“And some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out,” he added.

Harry’s spokesperson later clarified his comments were not meant as a swipe at William or any other family members.
While he admitted “scars stick around forever”, Harry added that he wanted to encourage others going through family issues like his to move forward.
“For me, there’s enough drama in the world and enough drama in people’s lives than to continue with issues with family,” he said.
“It’s not worth it.”
King Charles praises father-son bond
Just minutes after Harry’s GQ interview was published, the King was joined by William and his wife Kate as they hosted a banquet for the visiting Sultan of Oman and his son Sayyid Theyazin at Windsor Castle.

Charles spoke to the gathering of his pride in watching the bond between royal families continue to grow in William and Theyazin, who are joint patrons of an expedition to spotlight Oman and the country’s transition to becoming a sustainable green energy hub.
William and Theyazin sat together among 160 guests, who also included Queen Camilla, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and senior Cabinet members.
“Our connections matter deeply and, in this regard, I have been especially delighted to see our sons, the Prince of Wales and His Highness Sayyid Theyazin, become joint patrons of the Jewel of Arabia Expedition,” the King said.
“Your Majesty, there can be few happier symbols of success than a living relationship being passed from one generation to the next.”
