Opening his update, Adam said: “This is Clover, one of our Jenny donkeys. She’s a female and heavily pregnant. The gestational period for a donkey is 12 months, and you can see she’s got a great big tummy where that foal has been growing inside her.”
He then highlighted the clues that the birth is imminent, continuing: “And feeling her udder underneath where her milk comes, that’s now swollen and feeling quite tight,” reports the Express.
Adam added: “So I would say she’s giving birth any day now, and she’s in the comfort of the shed here so hopefully it’ll all go smoothly.”
He wrapped up the heartwarming post with another affectionate scratch for Clover, expressing his fondness for her while praising the farm animal.
Adam remarked: “There’s something very special about donkeys. They’ve been creatures of burden for people for thousands of years. It’s always nice to have a little cuddle, especially if you’ve had a bad day at work. Just come and pet a donkey.”
He accompanied his post with the caption: “Twelve months in the making – Clover is soon to be the proud mum of a lucky little foal [four leaf clover emoji].”
