People are being urged to look out for an elderly woman who was seen walking in Heywood in her nightwear.

Greater Manchester Police has issued an urgent appeal for help this morning (May 25), with a CCTV image released.

The force says the woman was seen walking on Bury Street towards the town centre at 7.17am today in her nightwear and using a Zimmer frame.

Her name and details have not been made public by GMP.

Anyone who sees her or has information on her whereabouts is urged to come forward as soon as possible.

A GMP Bury spokesperson said: “Can you help us locate the woman pictured?

“At around 7.17am this morning (Sunday, May 25 2025), an elderly woman was seen walking along Bury Street in Heywood dressed in her nightwear, and using a Zimmer frame.

“She was walking in the direction of Heywood town centre. Officers want to make sure she is safe and well.

“If you have any information on where she is, please contact police on 101 quoting log 689 of May 25, 2025.”
