An eight-year-old boy remains ‘seriously ill’ in hospital two days after he was struck by a car in Birmingham.
The collision happened in Upton Road, South Yardley, at around 8.20pm on Friday, May 23.
The youngster was rushed to hospital where he still remains.

Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash.
West Midlands Police said they were helping the force with its investigation into the collision.
The force told BirminghamLive this afternoon that the boy remained “seriously ill”.
A force spokesperson said: “The child remains seriously ill in hospital.”

It added that no arrests had been made and that the driver was still helping officers with their investigation.
In a statement issued to us yesterday, the force said: “We’re investigating after a boy aged eight was injured in a collision with a car in Birmingham last night.

“We were called to Upton Road, South Yardley, at around 8.20pm yesterday.
“The child remains in a serious condition in hospital this afternoon.
“The driver was spoken to by officers at the scene and is helping with the investigation.
“We’re appealing for anyone with information, mobile phone or dash-cam footage to come forward quoting log 5191 of May 23.”
