An M6 driver’s insecure load was compared by shocked police officers to a scene from the horror movie Final Destination.

Another driver was pulled over for an “outrageous” tyre in the motorway operation, which was carried out by Staffordshire Road Crime Team officers on Saturday May 24.

Traffic officers stopped and reported a number of drivers on Saturday as part of their sweep of the motorway, including a driver on their phone in lane 4 of the M6 north.

All drivers were stopped Saturday May 24 as part of Operation Lightning, the force’s road safety operation.

Staffordshire traffic officers first posted about a silver Renault which had a “completely insecure” load.

A @StaffsRCT spokesperson said: “No, this isn’t an advert for a new final destination movie.

“Car spotted on the M6 with the boot not secure… on further look it was completely insecure and could have lost its load at any moment.

“Driver reported and car prohibited until load secured.”

The chilling sights didn’t stop there, with another M6 driver pulled over for having a threadbare tyre.

Officers pulled over a van travelling on the M6 after spotting its “outrageous” looking tyre, and clocked a total of six defects.

Sharing a picture of the tyre, which was shown to be severely damaged, officers warned that dangerous vehicles have “no place on ou roads.”

A @StaffsRCT spokesperson said: “#Team3RCT stopped the van travelling #M6 for an examination.

“A staggering 6 dangerous defects were found including this outrageous tyre.

“Driver reported and van prohibited from moving until recovery has arrived!

“Unroadworthy vehicles have no place on our roads.”
