Jesy Nelson has shared an emotional update about her difficult journey in intensive care after giving birth to her two daughters earlier this month. On Sunday (May 25), the 33-year-old star – who was previously part of Little Mix – shared a touching snap of herself and her partner Zion Foster with her twin girls – Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.

In a touching Instagram post, Jesy opened up about the overwhelming experience of having her newborns placed in a neonatal intensive care unit [NICU]. She wrote: “Nothing or no one will ever be able to prepare you as a parent for NICU. It’s the most scary overwhelming feeling of emotions not being able to feel like you can protect your babies.

“Naturally as a mother you just want to hold them and comfort them when they cry but you can’t because there are what feels like a million wires coming out of them.

“Tubes and masks in the way with people poking and prodding them, it breaks your heart into a million pieces. But slowly as the days go by and they get stronger and wires start to come away, moments like this feel like a dream.

“Having them reunited for the first time ever today was the most magical feeling will never be able to describe. The strongest little girls I’ve ever known who really do have the most inspiring story to tell.”

Her post was swiftly met with an outpouring of support from her famous friends and loyal fanbase online. Actress Kym Marsh wrote: “This is beautiful”, meanwhile another fan penned: “They’re so strong, just like their mama.” A third echoed: “Everyday that goes past you all get stronger and stronger. Everyone is so proud of you and your babies.”

Meanwhile a fourth chimed in with: “Nothing can prepare you mama. I’ve been where you are. You are amazing, strong, and absolutely immensely powerful. The journey has just begun, it gets better from here on out. Congratulations to you both. Enjoy every second.”

Jesy gave birth following a high-risk pregnancy. She had remained in hospital after being diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) – a rare condition where blood is unevenly shared between identical twins connected by a single placenta.

It comes after Jesy announced that her brave newborn twins will be shown for the first time on screen as part of a new six-part series about her pregnancy in what she describes as a “new chapter in her life”.

Fans will get an insight on the ups and downs of the brunette beauty’s difficult pregnancy and get to meet the twins in a Prime series. The streaming giants have officially confirmed the project with Jesy as she shared a photo on social media.
