The search to find your perfect home can be a long and tedious process, but budget is key when it comes to beginning the hunt. Though Bristol is one of the most expensive UK cities to buy property in, there are still some bargains to be found.

According to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics, the average house price in Bristol was £367,000 in March 2025. With this in mind, Bristol Live looked at what buyers on a third of that budget might be able to afford, excluding retirement homes and buying schemes.

The results were diverse; from a quaint and charming apartment to a rundown flat that would delight makeover enthusiasts. Here are the seven cheapest residential properties listed in Bristol at the time of writing:

One-bedroom garden apartment

A ‘charming’ one-bedroom garden apartment, located in Highridge, is currently up for sale. The ground-floor apartment features its own private entrance, a separate lounge/diner, and a kitchen, situated at the rear of the property.

The double bedroom is ‘generously’ sized, and the property includes a modern three-piece bathroom suite. Externally, the apartment benefits from a good-sized private garden with its own gated access, fully enclosed with fencing for added privacy.

This property has been listed for £80,000 but specifies only cash buyers should enquire.

‘Investment opportunity’ in Fishponds

A one-bedroom flat on Filwood Road has been described as a ‘perfect renovation project for those looking to add value to a property’.

It consists of a lounge/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom to the rear. Moreover, it is located within walking distance to the high street.

Estate agents have received an offer of £98,000, so anyone hoping to snatch it would have to bid closer to or above the £100,000 guide price.

Modern flat in Soundwell Road

Located a stone’s throw from Staple Hill High Street sits this one-bedroom ground floor flat. The property has a hallway with a skylight, kitchen/diner/lounge with sky lights, a double bedroom with cupboard housing boiler and skylight and shower room.

Agents say Soundwell Road is conveniently located close to the shops and amenities that Staple Hill High Street has to offer, along with good transport links within the area.

This apartment could be yours for £100,000.

According to its listing, this studio apartment in Frenchay ‘presents an excellent opportunity for both first-time buyers seeking an entry point into the property market and investors looking to enhance their portfolio’. It features a kitchen, a modern shower room and access to communal gardens.

An advantage of this property is that it comes with an allocated off-street parking space. It’s located in Tanners Court, Bristol Road and has a price tag of £100,000.

‘Pied-à-Terre’ in Bath Road

The one-bed studio, described as a ‘Pied-à-Terre’, is close to the city centre and Temple Meads located opposite The Paintworks. It encompasses a kitchenette in the corner and a bay window.

There is also a separate shower room. It’s on the market for £100,000.

Property with ‘fantastic potential’

This apartment in Newland Road, Bishopsworth, features a fitted kitchen, a reception room and a double bedroom. It further includes a private garden, storage shed. and off street parking.
