Everton have confirmed that Jack Harrison will not be staying on Merseyside this summer and the on-loan Leeds United winger will return to Elland Road, where he remains under contract.
Following relegation to the Championship in the summer of 2023, Harrison has spent the last two years on loan at Everton. The winger has clocked up 73 appearances and scored five goals, only one this term.
Criticised for jumping ship in 2023 and using Victor Orta’s loan clause like seven other players, Harrison saw that loan clause remain active in 2024 – with Leeds failing to gain promotion back to the top flight.
This summer, Leeds have gone up and it means Harrison’s clause is no longer active. David Moyes is said to be a fan of Harrison – but Everton have chosen not to sign him permanently in the coming months.
Everton can confirm Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrøm, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja will return to their parent clubs when their loan deals expire next month.
Thank you for your service and good luck for the future, lads. 💙

Leeds fans react to news that Jack Harrison is set to return
Now, Leeds are left with a conundrum. A player with vast Premier League experience that could make some sort of an impact at Elland Road as a squad player – but one that has burnt bridges with supporters.
Not only did he leave on loan, he did it twice – and the memory of his Mother criticising Leeds from the Goodison Park stands remains fresh among Leeds fans. Harrison has a contract at Leeds until June 2028.
Still three years left to run thanks to Orta handing Harrison a new deal a few months before relegation. Leeds fans have responded to the news that Harrison is due to return, but they are all in agreement.

The feeling among the Leeds fanbase is clear. They want Harrison out, with one Leeds fan urging the club to make Harrison “first out the door” this summer. Another said he “needs to go as soon as possible”.
Harrison has been linked with a move to the MLS, having begun his career with New York City. A Leeds fan has urged The 49ers to “send him back to the States”, claiming the MLS is “his level” these days.
Hopefully the club gets him a move asap.

There will be plenty of incoming and outgoings this summer and one fan simply said “hopefully walks through the revolving door”. Another said there is “surely no way back” for Harrison at Elland Road.

It remains to be seen what Daniel Farke thinks of Harrison. If he wants to win fans over, he will offload Harrison at the first opportunity even if it is for a nominal fee. But Harrison does possess qualities.
Leeds are looking for Premier League experience in the transfer market this summer and Harrison has plenty, having spent the last five seasons in the top tier. But his Leeds future hinges on Manor Solomon.
If Leeds sign Solomon, there’s just no room for Harrison at Leeds. The Whites will boast four Premier League-quality wingers in Solomon, Willy Gnonto, Largie Ramazani and Dan James. Solomon is key.
