Police are advising motorists to avoid the Bughtlin Market area of Edinburgh due to a fire.

Emergency services were alerted shortly after 5pm this afternoon.

Officers have closed the road.

A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services are in attendance following a fire at a premises in the Bughtlin Market area of Edinburgh, which was reported around 5.05pm on Monday, 26 May, 2025.

“The road is currently closed and the public is asked to avoid the area at this time.”

Updated 8.50pm from Police Scotland: “The road has now reopened at Bughtlin Market, Edinburgh, following a fire at a premises earlier this evening.

“The incident was reported around 5.05pm on Monday, 26 May, 2025. There were no reported injuries.

“Members of the public are thanked for their patience.”
