A lavish restaurant that towers 100 metres over Birmingham city centre has been named among the best lunch spots in the country.

Birmingham is crammed with great places for daytime meal – from charming old boozers serving hearty Sunday roasts to trendy cafes – but only one city venue made OpenTable’s 2025 list of the Top 100 Restaurants for Brunch and Lunch in the UK.

Orelle is the contemporary French restaurant that occupies the 24th floor of the 103 Colmore Row skyscraper.

Its floor-to-ceiling glass windows offer 360-degree views across the city.

Open for lunch and dinner, the glamorous restaurant and cocktail bar offers an a la carte menu of French-inspired dishes and grills, Sunday lunch and bottomless brunch.

There’s also an all-day cafĂ© located on the ground floor.

Reviews from diners often mention the ‘unmatched’ and ‘amazing’ views and attentive service, with one customer describing the pork Sunday roast as ‘delicious and cooked to perfection’.

Brunch options include pan-seared salmon, sirloin steak and French toast.

Elsewhere in the Midlands, the Farmhouse Restaurant in Coventry was also featured in the top 100.

The flashy Asian steakhouse has garnered a reputation for its beautifully-presented meals and attentive service.

OpenTable based its list on more than 850,000 reviews, taking into account diner ratings, the percentage of five-star reviews.

The qualified restaurants were then ranked based on their lunch and brunch reviews and Sunday lunch availability.
