A woman has been seriously injured in a horror crash in Stockport.
It happened on Piccadilly in the town centre shortly before 1pm.
A car, believed to be a White Ford Fiesta, was turning from Edward Street, near Stockport town hall, onto Piccadilly when it collided with the pedestrian, according to police.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, rushed to the scene after being called at 12:56pm.
The woman, aged 70, was taken to hospital.
She has suffered injuries that are ‘potentially life-changing and/or life threatening’, a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said.
The female driver stopped at the scene.

No arrests have been made.
The road, which runs between the Stockport Council offices and Stockport Magistrates Court, was taped off.
It remains closed this evening from Edward Street to the junction with Wellington Street whilst enquiries are carried out.
Traffic is said to be coping well.
