David Warner Debunks Pakistan Reporter’s Bizarre ‘Indian Spreading Hate’ Claim Over PSL Debut (Source: PSL)
PSL is one of the most hyped T20 leagues across the globe, however, Warner couldn’t feature in the tournament given his busy schedule, however, his retirement from international cricket made him fully available for the T20 extravaganza.
Meanwhile, during his first press conference as the Karachi Kings captain, Warner was thrown a bizarre question by a reporter who quizzed him about trolling he got from the Indian fans for playing the PSL after going unsold in the auction. Warner, however, shut the reporter with a befitting reply saying that this was the first time he was hearing such a claim. Warner said he didn’t get an opportunity to play PSL due to national duties, adding that his goal is to lead the Karachi Kings to a PSL title this year. Warner played for Delhi Capitals in the last season, however, he was released by the franchise ahead of the auction in November.
“This is the first I’ve heard of it. From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There’s an opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar didn’t allow me to come to PSL due to the timing. Now, I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully we are able to win the trophy,” Warner said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Warner was one of the top performers in the IPL and led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to their maiden title in 2016. Overall, he played 184 matches in the league and scored 6565 runs, including four hundreds and 62 fifties. He would look to replicate his IPL success in PSL, and if he manages to do that, Karachi Kings will have a good season.
