GILLALI LASS was disappointing when failing to make an impact at Wolverhampton last time, but she had offered something to work with when fourth over this course and distance on debut. She drops in class here and is worth another chance to build on her debut promise.

PARK STREET beat only one home on his return at Thirsk, where he failed to handle the bend, but he stepped up markedly on that when fourth over the extended mile here a couple of weeks ago.

Park Street was unlucky not to finish closer last time after meeting plenty of trouble and is on a dangerous mark. He hasn’t won for a while, but his last two wins have come at Beverley and he’s 3 lb below his last winning mark.

IN A HURRY was disappointing when racing too freely at Lingfield last week, but is better judged on her previous effort at Ayr, where she was a good second on her reappearance.

In A Hurry lost out by only a neck on that occasion. With the lack of a recent outing against a match-fit rival possibly making the difference, she has strong claims based on that effort. She drops in trip and is fitted with a hood for the first time in a bid to settle better.

PRINCESS NIYLA shaped well when third behind a couple of race-fit three-year-olds on her return at Wetherby last month and is worth another chance to build on that encouragement, having been unlucky in running over this course and distance four days ago.

Princess Niyla was unable to fully open up in the straight as she was short of room from over two furlongs out and was badly hampered inside the last half-furlong, so she is better than she could show there.

She is only 2 lb higher in the weights than when successful over this course and distance last season.

DISTINCTION enjoyed a successful campaign in 2024, winning on four occasions, including twice over this course and distance.

He’s not managed to win yet this year, but he’s gone close on a couple of occasions and wasn’t disgraced when mid-division in a stronger race at Kempton last time. He’s falling in the weights, so is now 8 lb below the mark he defied at Pontefract last July.

He can launch a bold bid to win this race for the second year in succession.

ARCH LEGEND shaped better than the result would suggest when fifth over this course and distance a few weeks ago on his first start for Ruth Carr, failing to sustain his effort after racing a bit freely.

He’s on a good mark based on the pick of his form for Charlie Johnston – he’s 7 lb below his last winning mark – and is entitled to do better with a recent run under his belt.

GOLDEN RAINBOW bounced back to form when runner-up at Redcar four weeks ago, losing out by only half a length to a subsequent winner. Golden Rainbow is only 1 lb higher here, so he is still 1 lb below his last winning mark, and he gets the vote over Fortunate Star, who also ran well when placed at Catterick last time.
