Nationwide Building Society has updated customers on the £100 bonus payment they are set to receive this summer, finally confirming the group will once again offer the scheme to qualifying members.

The Fairer Share Payment has previously been used to share its profits with members, with the building society sending out £100 to people last year.

This morning the building society released its full-year results, describing an “outstanding” 12 months.

Nationwide also reported a 30% rise in annual pre-tax profits, reaching £2.3 billion for the year to 31st March, up from £1.8 billion the previous year.

It also reportedly paid out a record £2.8 billion in rewards to customers.

Debbie Crosbie, Nationwide’s chief executive, said: “Nationwide has had an outstanding twelve months.

We returned a record £2.8 billion in value to our members and recorded our highest ever year for growth in mortgage lending and retail deposit balances, and we remain first for customer service.”

Eligibility for the £100 payment will be based on customers having a qualifying current account plus either qualifying savings or a qualifying mortgage.

However, members would have needed to meet these criteria when the building society last checked on 31st March, 2025.

The money will come into Nationwide customers’ accounts between 18th June and 4th July.

It comes after Nationwide gave its members a bonus payment of £50.

Over 12 million people received the payment, which was a thank you to its loyal customers that supported Nationwide after it completed its acquisition of Virgin Money.

One person recently contacted Nationwide to ask if they could pay the cheque into a non-Nationwide account.

The group said in reply: “The cheque can be paid into another current account as long as the account is in your name.”
