Spain will be present at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Austria!

This Thursday, May 29, the president of RTVE, José Pablo López, appeared before the Senate-Congress joint control commission to report on the activity of the Spanish broadcaster, with special attention to the Eurovision Song Contest and Benidorm Fest in 2026, announcing important changes in the regulations.

While waiting to know the rules of the fifth edition of the Spanish contest, José Pablo López has advanced that the winner of Benidorm Fest 2026 will receive 150,000 euros so that the representative of Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest  2026″can have an economic cushion to carry out his musical career”. Therefore, the artist who wins the bronze microphone in Benidorm will also have an economic endowment to continue with his musical project.

José Pablo López commented the below:

“One of the main novelties that we are going to have at Benidorm Fest is going to be the introduction of a prize for the winner in the amount of 150,000 euros that ensures the musical career of the one who will be the representative of Spain in Eurovision. And that, therefore, he can have an economic cushion to carry out his musical career”

The president of the corporation has also confirmed that the new regulations of Benidorm Fest 2026 will be published next week, so it will be then when the call for applications for the competition will begin.

The above development comes in complete contrast to the comments of the head of delegation Ana Maria Bordas, who had communicated the possibility of the country’s withdrawal from the contest. This possibility no longer exists and Spain will be present at the anniversary edition of Eurovision 2026!
