Derrick Lewis is the UFC’s knockout king, one half of the main event of the UFC’s return to Nashville in July — and now he’s taking on the challenge of competitive golfer.

On the second episode of Swing Rounds, “The Black Beast” joins MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck at Kingwood Country Club’s Island Course, located just outside of Lewis’ home city of Houston, as they play a nine-hole, stroke play match on a beautiful afternoon for golf. Ahead of his main event bout at UFC Nashville on July 12, Lewis swings the sticks on the legendary Texas golf course and also discusses his golf skills, his favorite fight and knockout of his career, not being able to compete at UFC Edmonton in November, facing Tallison Teixeira on the summer Fight Night card, and much more.

Additionally, check out how the pairing takes on the Island Course’s iconic 18th hole — which Golf Digest recognizes as “Golf’s Toughest Finishing Hole,” and Dallas Morning News annually ranks as one of the state’s 18 toughest golf holes.

Can Lewis deliver a knockout in this one-on-one matchup? Find out on the return of MMA Fighting’s Swing Rounds in the video above. And a special thanks to The Clubs of Kingwood for allowing us to film our round on this incredible golf course.
