A man arrested and charged following a string of break-ins at multiple premises across Edinburgh over the course of the last month.

Officers arrested the 35-year-old after a number of cafes, take-aways and food stores were broken into in the Edinburgh city centre, Dalry, and Gorgie areas of the capital.

The offences took place between Saturday, May 17 and Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Police Scotland has sent a report to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Edinburgh’s Sheriff Court on Monday, June 2.

Detective Sergeant Derek Schulz of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance during our investigation.”
