Buckingham Palace announces delightful gifts as King marks historic milestone

The office of King Charles shared a special update as the monarch celebrated a milestone moment in his reign.

Charles, who ascended to the throne in September 2022, held his coronation months later in May 2023. Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton were promoted to the Prince and Princess of Wales – indicating that they are now King and Queen in-waiting.

To mark two years of the historic ceremony, the King had earlier commissioned special artworks to commemorate.

The Buckingham Palace on Friday issued a statement in which it revealed the special gifts the King had received.

“Gifts to members of the Royal Family come in many shapes and sizes, and from all corners of the globe,” the message read alongside a carousel of selective presents. “They might reflect The King’s relationship with the country or organisation presenting the gift, an aspect of His Majesty’s work, or a personal interest or passion of the sender.”

It continued, “Here is a selection of the huge variety of gifts which were given to The King, as Head of State, to mark his Coronation in 2023, a milestone moment in his reign.”

The annoucement from the Palace comes at the heels of Prince William’s big moment. After succeeding King Charles in the role of as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps last year, William will be making his first appearance in the position.

The heir to the throne will visit Wattisham Flying Station on Wednesday, June 4, for his first official outing and will spend the day getting an in-depth look at the regiment’s operations.
