While standing next to US President
Donald Trump
at the Oval Office to address his farewell press conference, Tesla CEO
Elon Musk
turned up with a black eye. Musk’s face sparked speculation immediately given how a report suggested that he was under the influence during his time as adviser to US President Donald Trump.

When asked about his black eye,  Musk attempted to brush away the matter, insisting that France has nothing to do with it, referencing French First Lady Bridget Macron’s smack to President
Emmanuel Macron
in Vietnam. He eventually revealed that he got the black eye while he was “horsing around’ with his 5-year-old son.

“I said go ahead and punch me in the face and he did,” Musk said. “X could do it…,” Trump said. “I didn’t notice it, actually,” the president quipped. Before Musk spoke about his black eye, social media was rife with users questioning what may have happened to him. “Does anyone know why Elon has a black eye,” one person said. “Why is Elon Musk’s right eye, black and blue??????” another asked.

Musk consumed drugs while advising Trump: Report

Interstingly, Musk’s farewell press conference came the same day it was reported that the billionaire was
using drugs
“intensely and regularly,” including “chronically” using the powerful anaesthetic ketamine, during his time as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency.

According to the report by The New York Times, the SpaceX CEO was allegedly using psychedelic mushrooms and Adderall, which he kept in a daily medication box. A source close to the billionaire told the American news outlet that Musk kept a daily medication box that held about 20 pills.

During the presser, Musk attempted to dodge questions on the damming report. Instead, he slammed the NYT for all sorts of reasons. Earlier this week, Musk revealed that he was “disappointed” in Trump’s “
big beautiful bill
,” and argued that it “undermines the work” of DOGE. But at the Friday press conference, the matter was not discussed.

“We’ll remember you as we announce billions of dollars of extra waste, fraud and abuse,” Trump said. “DOGE has installed geniuses with an engineering mindset and unbelievably talented people on computers,” he continued. “I actually asked Elon one time, ‘What’s their primary thing?’ And they have a lot of primary things all having to do with being smart,” he added. Meanwhile, Musk insisted that he believes DOGE “will continue to be doing an incredible job.”
