TABLETALK was a tidy winner of a strong three-year-old handicap at York last season and dropped down in distance for his return at Newbury last time, which was a cracking effort. He does need a career best in this lineup, yet he’s priced as a big each-way runner with the dead eight going to post.

HARVARD SOUND scored smooth back-to-back successes over this specialist distance last season and was well punted on his return to action 122 days ago, but was an expensive failure that day. Given time to get over that poor run, he reappears with the addition of cheek pieces at a track that will suit his racing style.

There are quite a few who like to front-run in this lineup and I’m hoping they decide to give SAYIDAH DARIYAN a chance in the early stages, as she is blessed with a very tidy change of gear. We saw that last time at Chelmsford with a dominant display later on and she may well prove too good for the red-hot favourite Ides Of March.

FONDO BLANCO was arguably unlucky to come off second best in a head-bobbing finish at Doncaster last time, looking for all the world like the winner until very late in the day.

He is surely going to appreciate stepping up an extra furlong and is obviously a low-mileage improver in this lineup, where we know quite a lot about most of the others.

ASMEN WARRIOR has bumped into a couple of very tidy performers in his last two at Redcar and Leicester. It seems the handicapper has underestimated his natural ability with an opening mark of just 82.

He will fly under the radar as he doesn’t come from one of the big, fashionable stables, yet they are well on target for a career-best tally this season.

MYTHICAL GUEST bumped into Bullet Point on his reappearance at headquarters and also another big improver last time at Ascot in My Cloud. He doesn’t appear to have anything like those two in opposition this afternoon and can be rewarded for his consistency from an unchanged mark of 84.

DANCING GEMINI has been breathtaking so far this term at Doncaster and Sandown despite the race not falling into his lap at the latter. He’s blessed with a massive amount of natural speed, so he won’t mind if this turns out to be a very tactical affair.

Connections call on the excellent services of Ryan Moore to, hopefully, steer him to a first Group One victory.
