Two men have been charged following a reported stabbing in Manchester city centre.
A man was injured in the alleged incident in Piccadilly Gardens which police responded to at around 11:30pm on Thursday night (May 29).
In an update issued this morning (Saturday), Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said charges had been authorised against two of those arrested.
Hamid Ullah Paktiawal, 20, of Princess Road, Manchester, has been charged with Section 18 assault (causing grievous bodily harm), affray, and possession of a bladed article.
Lalzaman Maroof-Khalil, 30, of no fixed address, has been charged with affray and Section 47 assault (causing actual bodily harm).
They are due to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court today.
A third man arrested has been released with no further action, a GMP spokesperson said.
They added the alleged victim in the case was ‘continuing his recovery.’
