Road policing officers are appealing for information following a crash involving a pedestrian and the driver a car on Ferry Road last night.

The incident happened around 6.35pm on Friday, 30 May, 2025, and involved a blue Land Rover Discovery.

The pedestrian, a 7-year-old boy, was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People for treatment. His injuries are serious but not described as life threatening.

The driver was uninjured.

The road reopened around 11.15pm following further investigation.

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“I am also keen to speak to any drivers who were in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage which has captured something of significance.”
