GLASGOW WARRIORS will play their URC play-off semi-final against Leinster at 2.45pm next Saturday (7th June) at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, after the two sides booked their places in the last four with home wins over Stormers and Scarlets respectively this weekend.
The other semi-final is an all South African affair with Bulls (who defeated Edinburgh at the quarter-final stage earlier today) hosting Sharks (who were tied 24-24 with Munster after extra-time of their quarter-final this evening and then won a rare penalty shoot-out 6-4). That game kicks-off at 5.15pm.
Warriors will be looking for a more positive performance and outcome than they managed the last time they visited the Aviva for a knock-out game, with the 52-0 shellacking they endured at the quarter-final stage of the EPCR Champions Cup at the start of April delivering an excoriating blow to the team’s confidence and hopes of being seen as genuine contenders on European club rugby’s biggest stage.

Franco Smith‘s side did fair better when they returned to Dublin and both clubs fielded understrength sides in the final round of the URC regular season a fortnight ago, with Leinster running out 13-5 winners on that occasion. But that was a dead-rubber for the Irishmen, who will be firing on all cylinders this coming weekend as they seek to avoid a fourth consecutive trophyless season.
