Emmerdale’s Eden Taylor-Draper and Beth Cordingly have shed some light on what viewers can expect for Belle Dingle and Ruby Miligan in upcoming scenes.
Belle, as viewers know, was abused by husband Tom King (James Chase) over a year-long period in a harrowing but powerful domestic abuse storyline.
Tom was sentenced to three years in prison, with Belle subsequently filing for divorce as she looked to the future and took over Take A Vow in the wake of Leyla Harding’s (Roxy Shahidi) tragic death.
But just what does the future hold for her? That remains to be seen but star Eden teased what viewers can expect in a chat with Metro on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards 2025.
‘I went through my new scripts last week,’ she said with a smile, hinting of something positive, ‘and maybe [something positive], yeah! Maybe.’
Consider us intrigued.

Discussing if Belle is ready for romance after her ordeal, Eden added: ‘I think that’s a journey she’ll have to explore and hopefully the audience can go on that with her and we explore the ups and downs of that.’
Upcoming scenes will see Belle taken aback when Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) suggests going into business with her.
Beth Cordingly, meanwhile, spoke to us about what’s in store for Ruby Milligan next week, confirming that she hands herself into the police over Anthony’s murder following the discovery of a body.

The soap star also branded the character of Ruby a ‘gift of a part’. ‘
When you come in and have that kind of storyline, you come in and everybody hates you, you unravel the layers and show why you’re like that.
‘I love those characters that are complicated, interesting and difficult and it’s been a real privilege doing that storyline.’
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream first from 6am on ITVX.
