Lidl has urged shoppers to return a popular protein bar sold in supermarkets after the item was recalled due to health concerns.
The supermarket has recalled the Cookies & Cream Protein Bars, made by Healthy Fit, in Northern Ireland. The recall comes as the bars contain milk and soya which were not declared in English on the label, the Mirror reports.
The labelling issue poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, and/or an allergy to soya.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an allergy alert and Healthy Fit has recalled the product. The company has also been advised to contact relevant allergy support organisations.
Lidl will also display point of sale notices in affected supermarkets explaining why the bars are being removed and what customers should do if they have purchased them.
Affected products are the 60g Cookies & Cream Protein Bars with the batch code 002851 and a best before date of January 2026.

Shoppers who have bought the item and who have an allergy or intolerance to milk and/or soya are advised not to eat the product and instead return it to the store they bought it from for a full refund.
Customers looking to return the product in the recall do not need to provide a receipt.
Lidl has apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience caused.
Other recent recall notices you should be aware of include the Zizzi Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni Rustica Pizza as it may contain milk which was not disclosed on the label.
Myprotein double chocolate and caramel gooey filled cookies have also been recalled as they contain wheat which is not disclosed on the label.
