A West Midlands bakery chain announced its newest location in one of Birmingham’s beloved venues.

With seven locations across Birmingham and Wolverhampton, Medicine Bakery’s newest café will be inside the beautiful Botanical Gardens.

The collaboration unites a shared passion for natural ingredients, sustainability and community spirit in a stylish new hub.

Head of commercial and visitor services at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Chris Maher said: “We’re delighted to welcome Medicine Bakery as a new partner.

“We’re excited to work with a distinguished Brummie business to create a destination café at the Gardens.

“Medicine’s values and commitment to quality align closely with our own, and we believe their reputation for excellence in service and food will be an amazing addition for all visitors.

“We have a huge spring and summer programme of events and activities ahead at the Gardens and we can’t wait for this key part of our visitor and events offer to open.

This partnership will also be a huge addition to the Gardens venue hire offer, including away days, conferences and weddings.”

After closing Medicine Bar in 2011, the husband and wife team of Simon and Francesca Jones set out a new career of artisan baking.

From their Wolverhampton headquarters, the couple perfected the craft of pastries, cakes and sourdough bread.

While inspired by French and New York baking traditions, using locally sourced ethical ingredients are just as important, if not more for Medicine Bakery.

Botanical Gardens customers will soon be able to sample Medicine Bakery’s coffee, cakes, pastries and savoury treats with a chance to dine on the stunning garden terrace.

Opened in 1832, the historic 15-acre Grade II listed landscape is one of the UK’s most significant botanical gardens.

To visit Medicine Bakery’s new café, you’ll need a Birmingham Botanical Gardens day ticket – or instead become a Gardens Member for free year-round access.

Medicine Bakery will launch over the May bank holiday weekend and be open seven days a week from 10am-5pm.
