Britain’s Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli may be facing the chop as filming dates for the next series is likely to clash with his US show, Dancing With The Stars. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge, 69, has been part of the show for two years, having replaced David Walliams in 2023. But it appears that Simon Cowell and the production team are already scouting for his replacement when he is unable to commit to filming.
KSI, whose YouTube channel boasts more than 25 million subscribers, has already had a taste of judging on the show through several guest appearances. He stepped in for Bruno during periods when the ex-professional dancer was away filming in America. As KSI was incredibly well-received by viewers, he is a likely candidate to fill Bruno’s shoes on the panel.
A television insider revealed to The Sun: “There is no doubt that KSI’s social media clout is exactly what the BGT panel needs, and Simon loves the edge he brings.
“TV isn’t getting the viewing figures it did a decade ago, so to have someone who can tell their followers to sit down and watch the box can have a real impact.”
They added: “Because of the scheduling issues, insiders are certain that Simon will offer KSI a more long-term position in the show.”
When commenting on KSI’s involvement with the ITV show, Bruno said nothing but kind words, telling the publication: “We’re both young, attractive, multi-talented stars, known the world over. Joking aside, I think KSI is fantastic – a real charming man, full of energy.”
He reminisced: “We attended the Brits together too, which was a fabulous evening.”
Following KSI’s debut on the programme in February, his admirers were quick to urge television chiefs to secure him as a regular feature.
Taking to social media to express their admiration for the BGT newcomer, one fan enthused: “KSI was made for BGT,” while another agreed: “Delighted that one of my favourite TV shows is back! Great that KSI is a guest judge.”
A third viewer chimed in: “#BritainsGotTalent How hilarious is KSI lmfao can we keep him as a full time judge!!!!” A fourth added: “Actually a good addition, adding much needed fun.”
