British music icon Robbie Williams took to the stage in Edinburgh on Saturday as he kicked off his new tour.

In typical Robbie fashion, the evening was filled with impromptu moments, a woman being serenaded and an unfortunate fan being picked on in the middle of the crowd.

However, one thing that was absolutely guaranteed before a note was sung was a special performance of Angels – one of Robbie’s biggest and most streamed hits.

By the time Robbie got to sing Angels, darkness had fallen over Edinburgh and it seems like that was very much the plan as fans were treated to an unforgettable atmosphere.

Robbie declared his love for Scotland just as the first few notes of the iconic tune rang out around Murrayfield as the crowd instantly knew what was coming and let out a huge cheer.

Hundreds of fans seized the opportunity and turned on the flashlight on their phones while holding them up and after spotting them in the distance, Robbie took a break in the song to encourage everyone else in the audience to do the same.

Into the microphone he shouted: “Get your phones out, turn the lights on. Let me see them everybody. Sing it.”

One fan standing near the stage then captured spectacular footage of the entire stadium lit up with the dark sky above as Robbie belted out the chorus while thousands joined in.

The camera pans all the way around Murrayfield as fans can be seen waving their phones side to side before Robbie lets the song die out and thanks the “incredible” crowd for their contribution.

Robbie is then lifted into the air and rises above the stage while singing the chorus for one last time and showing off his impressive vocals.
