Sony’s upgraded PS5 Pro system will be the best place to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on console hardware from next week, as Microsoft has shared the sort of support owners can look forward to when the PS5 port releases on 17th April 2025.
In addition to the new PS5 launch trailer (embedded above), Bethesda took to the PlayStation Blog to detail how studio MachineGames is taking full advantage of PS5 hardware, including the base system. No matter which PS5 console you’re playing on, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will run at a “stable 60 FPS with high quality resolution”.
It features “frictionless loading”, “greater detail and quality as well as more realistic and dynamic lighting throughout the world” thanks to ray tracing, and 3D audio and HD rumble capabilities. The PS5 pad’s light bar surrounding the touchpad will react to your actions, and haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers will both let you “feel every action in the palms of your hands”.
This level of support will be available on both base PS5 and PS5 Pro, but it’s the latter where the developer is taking things to the next level. With a native 4K resolution and “advanced” ray tracing, Bethesda’s senior content lead Anne Lewis calls it “the best way to appreciate the level of detail the team at MachineGames has poured into every corner of the world”.

Lewis continues: “You could spend hours just walking around the different environments admiring every little thing, from each artifact in Marshall College’s impressive collection to the verdant beauty of Sukhothai’s jungles.” No details on any potential frame rate improvements on PS5 Pro are shared, though 60fps comes standard — even on base PS5.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes to PS5 on 17th April, or you can start playing two days early by pre-ordering the Premium Edition, which includes an upcoming expansion. Are you planning on picking the game up next week? Let us know in the comments below.
